We are consuming our future, one choice at a time. At this rate our existence on this planet is limited, a change has to come.
A very informative read, Yuval Noah Harari's book Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind runs through how humanity evolved into the modern era. The Earth was formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago, yet 'modern' sapiens have only existed for 315,000 years. The agricultural and scientific revolution have propelled us into the modern existence as we know it, with the biggest technological changes happening over the last few decades.
.
The question of sustainability arises when our consumption habits far exceed our requirement of the Earth's resources. WWF (World Wildlife Fund) have calculated that over 30% of the Earth's natural resources have been destroyed in the last 30 years.
.
The World Counts states "If Earth's history is squeezed into one year, modern humans have existed for 37 minutes and used up a third of Earths natural resources in the last 0.2 seconds".
.
I hope these stats shock you into change.
.
More recently, Sir David Attenborough's plea for support was beautifully displayed by Netflix in his most recent documentary "A Life On Our Planet". We have driven ourselves into a scary state of affairs and his last words push humanity to come together and make a change.
.
"My great hope is that these minds come together in a position to influence our Future. He encourages that it is possible to achieve so much more working with others than one of us can achieve alone". Sir David Attenborough 2020

Let's work together. Let's influence. Let's Change..before it is too late.
